It takes visionary people at the table to make sure every young person has a seat.

Meet Our Board of Trustees

At YOUTHOOD, we believe bold missions need bold guardians. Our Board of Trustees plays a critical role in guiding our direction, safeguarding our values, and ensuring we stay true to our mission of redefining youth development for the next generation.

Each trustee brings deep expertise across sectors—from youth policy and public service to charity leadership, innovation, and local government. Together, they support us to grow responsibly, act ethically, and dream ambitiously.

This isn’t just a boardroom. It’s a circle of strategic thinkers, advocates, and change-makers—united by one shared goal: to ensure every young person experiences adolescence as a time that empowers, educates, and equips them for life and adulthood.

A Board That Reflects the Change We Stand For

Youth development doesn’t happen in isolation, so neither should governance. We know that to meaningfully serve young people, our leadership must reflect the diversity of their lives, communities, and the systems that shape their experiences. That’s why we’re committed to building a Board of Trustees that represents not just a wide range of lived experiences, but also the professional sectors and perspectives needed to truly transform adolescence.

Below are the three pillars of diversity we actively seek and value in our Board:

  • We recognise that people bring not just professional expertise, but lived realities that shape their values and insight. Our board aims to include those with personal experience of the youth sector, from care leavers to former young carers, adoptees, and those with experience of marginalisation or systemic inequality. We also strive to reflect the diversity of identity across race, gender, sexuality, disability, class, and geography.

  • Effective change comes from understanding how different sectors impact young people’s lives. Our trustees come from a range of professional experience, including education, health, local authority, national service delivery, youth work, social policy, business, and the charity sector. This cross-sectoral mix helps us bridge gaps and challenge siloed thinking in the systems that serve youth.

  • We balance our board with individuals who bring experience in charity governance, strategic development, and ethical leadership, alongside those newer to board roles but rich in insight, values, and ambition. We welcome a blend of seasoned professionals and emerging leaders, ensuring both continuity and innovation in how we guide YOUTHOOD forward.

Charlotte Lastoweckyi

Charlotte is an advocate for empowering young people to find their voice and shape their future. Growing up in a community with limited resources, she experienced firsthand the importance of being heard and supported. Today, she focuses on creating opportunities for youth to actively contribute to decision-making, believing their perspectives are vital to driving positive change.
